Standing in line at the DMV fixed my grocery budget somehow
Last Tuesday I waited 45 minutes at the DMV on Broadway Ave and watched everyone else buying snacks from the vending machine. One lady dropped $4 on a bag of chips and a soda, easy. I had packed a granola bar and a water bottle from home and just sat there feeling smug. It hit me that all my small impulse buys add up way faster than the big stuff I obsess over. Anyone else have a random boring place that snaps you out of bad spending habits?

torres.blair, half your lunch budget on chips and a soda is wild when you put it that way. That DMV line really does something to your brain, makes you see every dollar like it matters. I had the same feeling once at the dentist office waiting room, watched a guy drop $6 on a magazine he never opened. Packing that granola bar is basically a superpower, honestly. Small wins add up, even if they feel dumb at the time.
