Swapped weekly takeout for a 50 dollar Sunday cook session in Phoenix

I used to blow 120 bucks a week on restaurant food because I thought cooking meant fancy skills and tons of time. Now I spend 3 hours every Sunday making five simple meals like rice bowls and sheet pan chicken, which cost me about 50 total for the whole week. Anyone else find that one big prep day beats all those little daily decisions, or does the Sunday grind feel worse than the money drain?

Sunday grind" is basically my new religion, except the sermon is me crying over cold rice. I tried the sheet pan chicken thing and ended up with food that tasted like regret and burnt paprika. But hey, at least I can afford to buy REAL fancy takeout on Friday now, just to remind myself what flavor actually is.
