Looking back at my first bullet journal from 2018, I had a page for everything

Switching to just a monthly log and a daily rapid-logging section cut my setup time from 3 hours to about 30 minutes and made me actually use the thing, so what's the one layout change that made bullet journaling click for you?

Ever try using a single pen color for the whole month?

Interesting. I wonder if that would force you to actually read your old notes more, since you couldn't just scan for color.

Honestly, I read this blog post about only using the right page for dailies. It sounds weird but it worked. I stopped trying to fill two pages every day and just let the log run down one side. My weekly review got way faster because I wasn't staring at empty left-hand pages feeling guilty. That small change finally made the habit stick for me.
