Stopped by a library workshop in Austin and it flipped my method

I walked into a free bullet journal meetup at the Austin Central Library last Saturday just to kill time. This guy named Joe showed a simple weekly layout using just a ruler and a single pen, no frills or art. I've been doing these elaborate monthly spreads with washi tape and stickers for like a year. Now I'm testing his stripped down approach for two weeks and it feels way less stressful. Anyone else find that less decoration actually makes you stick with journaling longer?

Right? Same here. Simple spreads actually keep me going.

Oh man, "simple spreads keep me going" - yeah @miller.diana, I feel that in my bones. I used to buy every sticker pack I saw thinking it'd make me more organized, but now my planner just has a pen and maybe one or two washi tape strips... if I'm feeling wild. It's like my brain short-circuits when there's too much color and doodles on the page. Honestly, half the time I just write stuff down in a messy list and call it a day. So I guess I'm not just lazy, I'm a minimalist genius now.

Oh man, I was totally the same way. I used to think more stickers meant more motivation, but this makes total sense now.
