TIL a coworker was right about using washi tape as a page marker replacement

I used to use those sticky tabs for my monthly spreads, but they kept falling off after a week or so. A guy I drive with, Dave, told me to try washi tape instead because it sticks better to the page without tearing. I finally gave it a shot about 3 months ago, and it's been solid - no peeling or shifting at all. Plus, you can write on it with a pen if you need to label something specific. Has anyone else found a trick like this that they ignored for too long?

Two months? That's way longer than I would have tested it. I figured the glue would turn into a mess after a month tops.

Oh, man, the residue question is something I was worried about too, mark_green. I actually tested it on a cheap notebook page I didn't care about, left a strip on for about two months, and peeled it off. No sticky glue left behind at all, just a faint little mark where the adhesive was, but it rubbed off easy with my finger. I was honestly shocked because normal tape always leaves that nasty, gummy yellow stain.

Does the tape leave any sticky residue when you peel it off later?
