Had a close call with my band saw blade in the shop this morning

The blade snapped while I was breaking down a side of beef, and a piece flew right past my face (I was in Cincinnati, working on a custom order). Has anyone else had a blade fail like that, and what brand do you trust now?

It was a generic brand from a big box store. I read a forum post where a few people had the same issue with that line. Might be worth checking out some user reviews before buying a replacement.

I switched to a name brand after my generic one failed, and it's been solid for years. @jordan_hill, what are you looking for in a replacement?
