Rant: My maple cabinet finish is perfect, but I'm lost on door hinge options.

I just applied the final coat of lacquer to a maple cabinet, and it looks great! Now I have to pick hinges for the doors, and I have no idea which style to choose. What kind of hinges do you recommend for cabinets that get used a lot?

My buddy spent weeks fixing his because the hinges had no give.

Look into hinges with easy adjustment features, not just the style. Cabinets that get heavy use will sag or shift, and you need hinges you can tweak without taking the door off. European concealed hinges are good for this because most have screws for height and depth adjustment. Get ones with soft-close if you want to prevent slamming, but check the adjustment range first. I've seen hinges fail when they can't be fine-tuned after years of use.

Hey @brooke_mitchell46, who knew cabinet hinges could need so much babysitting? I guess we're all part-time mechanics now.

Totally, @brooke_mitchell46 nailed it. Life's all about tiny adjustments!
