That time a fellow installer swore by using lubricant gel on coax cables

Old timer named Rick from a job in Charlotte said slicking up the cable with gel would save me time on a long conduit run, and after fighting with it for 45 minutes dry, I finally tried it and pulled 200 feet through in under 10 minutes with zero snags - any of you guys use that stuff or just rawdog it like I used to?

Damn, yep that lubricant gel is a game changer for long runs. @jennifer_jones17 I used to fight with coax like you until I did a 150 foot underground run last summer and the gel saved my back. It seems weird at first but it really beats standing there sweating and hoping you don't rip the jacket off.

200 feet in under 10 minutes after fighting for 45 minutes? That's wild. I've never even heard of using gel on coax, I always just rawdog it and curse a lot when it gets stuck. My experience is mostly with shorter runs though, maybe 50 feet tops, so I never had to think about it.

Been watching @wilson.olivia swear by that gel for years, still haven't tried it myself. Just curious though, does it leave any residue or mess up the connections if you don't wipe it all off?
