Found a trick for sticky shutter blades on old Canons

Had a Canon A-1 with shutter blades that kept sticking in humid weather. Dabbed a tiny bit of Ronsonol lighter fluid on a q-tip and wiped the edges, worked like a charm after 3 tries. Anyone else use lighter fluid for stubborn lubricants or am I asking for trouble long term?

Funny how the same stuff that cleans grills fixes cameras too.

@quinn161's got a point for sure. Had to clean a sensor last week and yeah, isopropyl is just the go to for anything greasy. Might save you a headache to grab the 99% stuff next time you're restocking grill cleaner though, it dries way faster.

lol @aaron880 i get what you're saying but people act like they just discovered fire when isopropyl alcohol works on stuff. its literally just a solvent, it cuts through grease and grime no matter what kind of device it is. not exactly some mind blowing crossover lol. i mean yeah its convenient but lets not act like it's some secret life hack only the chosen few knew about.
