I watched that old interview where the comedian said something awful about 10 years back.

His new apology felt like he was just reading a script his manager wrote. Does a forced 'sorry' ever really count?

I mean, at least he tried, right?

At least he tried" feels like a low bar. It's just a PR move, not a real change. Not sure we need to treat it like a big deal.

But honestly, a forced sorry is WAY better than nothing. It shows he knows he messed up and that public opinion matters now. That script his manager wrote? It still puts the right words out into the world, and some people might actually believe it. The alternative is just staying quiet and looking like he still thinks that awful stuff was okay. Even a bad apology starts a change.
