Finally got a dado stack to stop chattering after 3 setups today

Spent all morning messing with shims and arbor washers in my shop in Denver, and turns out the blade was just slightly warped from a drop last summer. Anyone else ever fight a setup for way too long only to find it's just a bent blade?

Oh wow, bet that blade was tweaked just enough to hide until you ran it under a straightedge.

You ever get that sinking feeling when you test something and it's exactly as crooked as you feared? I had a plane blade once that looked perfect until I put the straightedge to it, and sure enough there was a tiny twist near the tip. Made me wonder how many hours I'd wasted planing with it before I caught it.

My grandpa always said a straightedge finds what your eyes don't wanna see.
