Lost my favorite chisel in a client's wall cavity last Thursday

I was fitting a new door frame in a remodel over in Aurora and dropped my 3/4 inch Narex into the gap behind the studs. Spent 45 minutes with a magnet and a flashlight, no luck, had to finish the job with my backup. Has anyone else had to decide between cutting open drywall or just buying a replacement?

funny you mention that, I lost a good chisel the same way last year and tried everything too. ended up leaving it and just bought another one, but then a few months later I was doing a different job in the same spot and pulled the drywall off for a repair, there it was sitting right on top of a stud. felt like finding a $20 bill in an old jacket.

$45 for a new Narex versus an hour of patching drywall and repainting. I think the wall cavity just adopted your chisel, it's probably living its best life in there with all the other lost tools. At least you didn't drop your phone in there, that's a whole different kind of bad day.
