Noticed a weird pattern in James Gunn's apology for that old joke

He did that video last month where he talked about the offensive tweets from like 10 years ago, but his eyes kept darting to the side like he was reading a script off-camera... Did anyone else catch how his voice went flat right when he said the words 'genuinely sorry'?

Caught myself doing that thing where you watch someone's apology and you start analyzing their eyebrow movements instead of listening. Had a friend in college who did those "sincere" apology videos after getting caught cheating. Every time he said "I take full responsibility" his left eye twitched. Ended up making a drinking game out of it, bad idea honestly. Maybe some people are just bad at looking sincere on camera, or maybe they're reading off a teleprompter, who knows.

Oh wow, the eyebrow thing is so real. I once caught myself staring at a public figure's apology so hard I missed half of what they said because I was trying to figure out if their microexpressions matched the script. It's like we're all amateur body language experts now, but honestly I couldn't tell a real twitch from a nervous tic to save my life. That drinking game sounds like a fast track to a rough morning, but I kinda respect the dedication to scientific observation (or at least entertainment).

...and honestly I feel like we're reading way too much into stuff half the time. @hannah_west39 made a good point about that drinking game, but I think people forget that nerves on camera are totally normal. I've given a couple work presentations and I guarantee my left eye was doing jumping jacks the whole time. Doesn't mean I was lying about the quarterly numbers, just means I hate being watched by 50 people. The whole microexpression thing feels like astrology for skeptics sometimes, you know?
