Hit 500 celebrity gossip posts this week and realized I've been wrong about half of them

Started cross-checking my old predictions with actual news and found about 250 of them were just wishful thinking or good storytelling. Anyone else ever go back and fact-check their own gossip hot takes?

Half the fun of gossip is the storytelling anyway. Nobody's keeping a scorecard on your predictions, they're just passing the time. Celebrity gossip is entertainment, not journalism, so who cares if you were wrong about some of them? The whole point is to have a take and move on, not to be some kind of accuracy hawk. Plus a lot of those "facts" change depending on the source anyway, so you could have been right based on what was floating around at the time. Honestly going back to fact check feels like overthinking something that's supposed to be light and fun. You're just killing the vibe for yourself.

emma_wells83 is totally right about nobody keeping a scorecard. I did the same thing with my movie prediction takes and literally none of my friends cared, they just liked the drama. It's all about telling a good story in the moment anyway.

did you ever have that one friend who would predict which celebs were gonna break up and then get all defensive when they didn't? we had a friend in our group who swore brad and angelina were splitting like three years before it happened and we just nodded along because it was fun to hear her theories.
