Hit 500 followers last week and it felt weirdly huge
Was just scrolling through my feed and saw I crossed 500 followers on that gossip forum I use. Never thought I'd care but it hit different because I've been posting about celeb gossip for like 3 years now, mostly just calling out fake rumors or pointing out when a pap photo is clearly staged. One of my posts about how a certain actress always wears the same sunglasses in candids got picked up and that's when the numbers started climbing. Has anyone else noticed how the smaller accounts actually catch more real details than the big ones?

Smaller accounts have more to lose so they fact check harder than the big ones do.

Nah, I see it the opposite way honestly... the big accounts have the reach to actually get things verified. Smaller ones just get lucky once in a while and then ride that wave.

Hmm, I gotta push back a little on that "smaller ones just get lucky" part. I've seen plenty of smaller accounts that do solid, consistent work over time without any big viral moment. They just grow slow and steady by being reliable and honest. Getting one lucky hit isn't the same as building trust with an audience. Big accounts can definitely spread info faster, but that doesn't always mean they're more careful with what they share. Don't you think smaller accounts sometimes have more to lose, so they double check things more?
