That viral Selena Gomez paparazzi shot from last Tuesday got me looking twice

I saw this photo of Selena Gomez leaving a studio in LA, and everyone's saying she's got a new face. But then I found out from a facial recognition blog that the lighting and a 50mm lens can change cheek shadows by 15% or more. So is it really a new procedure or just bad paparazzi setup? Kinda curious if anyone else has seen that same debate over lens distortion in celeb shots.

Pretty sure angles and lighting trick us way more often than surgery does in regular life too.

Wait, does the focal length thing really change the shadows that much or is that blog just trying to sound smart... I mean, I've seen those side-by-side comparisons online where the same person looks totally different just from the camera angle and lighting setup. But 15% seems like a very specific number they pulled out of thin air, honestly. What kind of source were they even citing for that stat?

Fifteen percent is such a weirdly random number to cite, @the_eric.
