Told my friend her LA trip story was BS until I actually checked
My buddy Jenny kept going on about how she saw Brad Pitt at a coffee shop in Silver Lake last month. I figured she was making it up for attention, but then she showed me a photo with the time stamp and location data. Turns out he really does hang out at that Intelligentsia on Sunset at 7am sometimes. Now I feel bad for doubting her, but how often do these celeb sightings turn out to be legit? Have you guys ever been wrong about a story someone told you?

You're giving her too much credit with that article. Most celeb sightings people brag about are either grainy photos from 50 feet away or secondhand stories that got twisted. The real ones that are legit usually aren't even worth telling because the star is just buying avocados and trying not to be noticed. Your buddy having a timestamped, clear photo with location data is the exception, not the rule. If she'd just told the story without the proof, you'd have been right to call it out.

Read an article last year about how often people actually spot A-list celebrities in LA and it happens way more than you'd think. Most of them just live normal lives in certain neighborhoods and have their coffee spots like everyone else. Your friend probably feels validated right now and honestly you were right to be skeptical since most celeb stories do turn out fake.

Which article was that from exactly? I've seen some data on this but never a full breakdown. Did it mention which neighborhoods or coffee spots are the common ones? Would be interested to read the actual numbers if you remember where you found it.
