Hold up, 25 seconds flat? I gotta push back on that. If we're talking a real fine edge on a razor blade, not just a quick pass on a kitchen knife, I've seen guys take way longer to get it right. Taking it slow and checking your angle every few strokes is how you avoid burning the edge or making it uneven, not by racing through it.
