Found out my landlord's required disclosure was missing a key line item
I was reviewing my lease renewal paperwork for my apartment in Rogers Park and noticed the landlord never included the required radon disclosure form. Turns out Illinois law specifically requires this for all residential leases, and I found this info on the Illinois Attorney General's website. Has anyone else dealt with a missing disclosure and had to push back on their landlord about it?

That radon stuff is serious business, push back.

Yeah, you said "push back" and that really hit home for me. In my experience, people tend to downplay stuff like radon because it's invisible and they don't want to spend the money, but it's the same pattern with a lot of unseen health risks. I've seen it with mold too, folks will just ignore a musty smell until someone gets sick. Your mileage may vary, but I think once you start looking, you see this kind of avoidance everywhere. Sometimes the biggest problems are the ones you can't see coming.

Not sure I totally agree though. Sometimes people just don't know what to look for, not that they're avoiding it on purpose. Like with radon, most folks have never even heard of it until they go to sell their house (and then it's a whole thing).
