That time I signed a lease without reading the fine print about pigeons

I rented a storefront in Logan Square last spring and the lease had a clause saying I was responsible for 'bird abatement' which I totally glossed over. Three months later I had a full colony living in the attic and the landlord wouldn't lift a finger. Has anyone else gotten stuck with a weird hidden clause like that?

That’s on you for not reading the fine print, honestly.

@hannah_west39 you know, I used to think that fine print stuff was just boilerplate and never really mattered. But last month I signed up for a so-called free trial with a meal kit service. Buried in the terms was a clause that automatically upgraded you to a weekly subscription at full price after the trial. Had to call my bank to stop the charges. It was a pain. So yeah, your point hit home for me.

Lost $87 on a similar thing with a protein powder company.
