Vent: got a ticket for my license plate being too dirty after that snowstorm

I was parked on Western Ave near Irving Park last Tuesday after the big snow melt. Cop walks up and writes me a fix-it ticket for having my rear plate caked in salt and slush. Said it was illegible. I get it but come on, it was literally a day after the streets got cleared. Anyone fight one of these or just pay the fine?

Did you just wipe it off and send them a photo?

Also timestamp the photo so they know it's recent.

Yeah the timestamp is a good idea, I've seen a friend of mine try that. @paul_ramirez actually, she wiped it clean with just a damp cloth but forgot to take the photo first. So she had to get it dirty again to prove it was the same spot. She spent like 20 minutes trying to show the dirt buildup on the wall before she snapped the picture. It was a whole thing, she even wrote the date on a sticky note and put it in the frame. Worked out in the end but man, what a hassle.

Haha wow that's rough but honestly something I'd probably do too... she had to re-dirty the wall just to prove the before picture. That's dedication right there. Next time tell her to snap the photo first before even touching the rag haha.
