My grand-nephew told me his favorite dinosaur was the 'electric car'
It was a funny mix-up, but it made me think about how the next generation sees clean tech as just normal. Has anyone else had a kid say something that gave you hope?

Honestly that just sounds sad to me. Kids should know real dinosaurs, not confuse them with modern gadgets. It shows how disconnected they are from the natural world. I mean, it's not hopeful, it's just them being surrounded by ads and tech all the time. Maybe it's just me but that mix-up points to a bigger loss, not a win. I'd be worried they can't tell a stegosaurus from a station wagon.

I saw a kid point at a crane and call it a brachiosaurus last week. It's not just names, it's the whole shape of things. They're seeing machines more than animals, so their mental map gets wired that way. The real worry is when a living elephant seems less real to them than a construction vehicle.

Look at it this way, @mia_baker. Kids connecting a big name to a big, cool thing they see every day shows they're making links, not losing them.
