Shoutout to that one week in 2017 when the air was actually breathable

I was in Seattle during a rare week where the wildfire smoke cleared and the temp dropped to 72, and I swear I saw people just standing outside smiling for no reason. Has anyone else had a random perfect stretch like that where you forgot climate change exists for a minute?

I grew up in Portland and honestly that whole summer was kinda overhyped. We had like three days of good air before another fire hit and it was back to coughing up smoke. Not saying it wasn't nice while it lasted but people act like it was some magical month when it was really just a brief break.

The "smoke-cation" of 2017 (or was it 2018?) lasted maybe four days for us in Eugene. I remember watching everyone post those crisp blue sky photos while we were still dealing with hazy air from the Jones Creek fire. It was like a teaser trailer for a good summer that never actually came out.

Get a good air purifier for the basement and rotate rooms when the smoke gets bad, @quinn161 learned that trick after the third fire season.
