Someone told me to stop using tutorial hell and actually build stuff
A guy in a discord said I was wasting time copying code line by line. He told me to pick one feature, like a login form, and build it without looking. I changed my whole approach after that. Anyone else get a hard critique that actually helped?

Stare at a blank text editor until I can build a to-do list app? Might as well ask me to stare at my fridge until a full pizza appears inside. @richard_young80 you got more patience than me, I woulda cracked after ten minutes and googled "how to add a button in HTML." Ngl though, that three hour pain session is basically the same as learning to swim by getting thrown in the deep end. Sucks at first but you figure it out real quick when you're drowning in your own bad code.

That's the one that got me too. My buddy told me to just stare at a blank text editor until I could write a to-do list app without peeking at anything. Took me three hours but I learned more in that one session than a month of following tutorials.

That blank screen stare method worked for me after I built a calculator app first as a warmup.
