Appreciation post: I finally hit 100 cups on my new grinder

I was sure the 'dialing in' phase was just a hassle, but after hitting that number, I realized how much smoother my morning pour-over has become. The difference in taste from cup 20 to cup 100 is actually noticeable. Has anyone else found a specific number of uses made their gear finally click?

100 cups just to get it right feels like a crazy amount of coffee to waste, lol. I would have given up after like 10 tries and just dealt with the sour shots. The claire is right that it sounds like a hassle, but I guess if you have the beans to burn, more power to you. I'm still stuck on how much time that must have taken every morning.

Sounds like a lot of fuss over a grinder.

But what if the whole point is the process itself? I kinda love the slow chase of getting it just right, and those first 100 cups aren't wasted, they're practice. It's like breaking in a baseball glove or learning a song on guitar, the time you put in is what makes the good result feel earned.

Wait, you really went through 100 cups before it tasted good? I mean, I get breaking stuff in, but that's a whole lot of coffee to drink just okay. Maybe it's just me, but that sounds like a lot of work for a morning drink. Corah75 has a point about the process, but I'd lose patience way before then. It's a grinder, not a new car engine.
