My buddy swore I was crazy for pre-wetting my coffee filter before brewing, so I tested both ways side by side for two weeks with the exact same beans and timer.
After 14 mornings of the same Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, 20 grams, 300 grams water at 200 degrees, I found the pre-wet gave me a faster drawdown by about 8 seconds but the dry filter cup actually had more flavor clarity so which camp are you in on this?

This 8 seconds faster is actually ruining your extraction with a pre-wet filter.

Wait, is that actually a thing? My buddy Mark swore by pre-wetting his filters but he switched to dry and his shots started tasting way better. Could it be the pre-wet was causing all that channeling he kept complaining about?
