My espresso machine savings goal has me torn now

I've been setting aside cash for months to buy a high-end espresso machine for my home. But a buddy who's into coffee told me his pour-over setup makes just as good a cup, maybe better. Another friend says nothing beats the control and crema from a real espresso maker. Now I'm confused and don't know which way to go. What's your vote on this?

What's your usual coffee habit at home? I feel your confusion because both sides make fair points from what I've seen. Putting away money for months means you should pick what fits your daily life best. Pour-over is simpler for black coffee, but a machine wins if you often want milk drinks. Think about which one you'd actually use every day without regret.

It's funny how this happens with so many things we save up for. You pick a goal, then right before you get there, you hear a good case for something different. I've seen it with cars, bikes, even kitchen knives. That last minute doubt is part of the process. For your coffee, go back to what you wanted all those months ago. The machine was your original dream for a reason.

That line about control and crema is exactly why I went espresso. I saved up for a machine too and the ritual just feels more substantial to me, even if pour-over is simpler. What drinks do you make most often?

Wait, did your friend really say pour-over is maybe better? That's wild because espresso gives you that thick crema and strong shot pour-over can't copy. If you ever want lattes or cappuccinos, a machine is your only real choice. All that saving up means you get to make cafe style drinks at home any time. Honestly, stick with your espresso plan before you regret it.
