Just realized I was wrong about the new Spider-Man run

I saw all the hype for the latest Amazing Spider-Man issues and thought it was just more of the same. My buddy in Chicago kept telling me to give it a shot, so I finally read the first three issues last weekend. The way they handled Peter's job at Oscorp actually made sense for once, and the art in issue #2 during the bridge fight was incredible. Anyone else surprised by this arc after a rough couple years for the character?

Man, I feel you on that. I was totally ready to write it off too after the last few storylines. That bridge fight really did look amazing, and Peter having a real job that sticks is such a relief. It's nice to be excited to pick up the book again, you know? What did you think of the new tech they gave him at Oscorp?

Nah, I'm still out, jake747. That Oscorp tech feels like a total cheat. Peter's whole thing is making his own gear. Now he's just a guy in a company suit. The bridge fight was flashy, but it's just window dressing on a broken window.

Actually, I like the Oscorp job. He's not a kid anymore, and the tech isn't a cheat if he's the one fixing and improving it. It's a smart update that finally gives him some stability without making him a total loser. The new web-shooter designs in issue three were a cool twist on the old ones.
