Just found out the average wedding dress has like 50 yards of fabric

I was reading this old book from the library about costume history, and it mentioned that a standard 1950s ballgown silhouette used around 50 yards of material. That blew my mind, I always guessed maybe 20. It makes sense when you think about all the layers and the big skirt, but still. Has anyone here actually worked with that much fabric on a single piece?

I spent $40 on a Python course that finally made functions click for me.

The instructor used a simple pizza order system as an example, breaking down each step into its own function, which made the whole concept of modular code way less scary.

My cousin insisted I ask 'why' three times before giving any answer online.

He said it forces you to get to the real root of the problem. I thought it was silly until a user asked about fixing a slow website. My first thought was 'get more server space.' After asking 'why' three times, I realized their images were huge, uncompressed files. Saved them $80 a month on hosting. Anyone else have a simple rule that actually works?

I see debates on whether stuff dug up should stay local or go to big museums far away. Local folks say it's their history, but museums argue more people can learn from it. What do you guys think?
