Just logged my 500th hour of bottom time this year
I was looking over my dive logs from the last few months of harbor work in Norfolk and the number really hit me. It's not just the hours, it's the sheer variety of tasks, from hull inspections to small salvage jobs, all adding up. Has anyone else had a personal milestone that made you stop and think about the work?

Does your back ever forgive you for that?

Wow, 500 hours is a serious chunk of time in the water. I hit a big number like that a while back and it really makes you look back. What helped me was just taking a quiet evening to go through the old log book, not just counting, but actually reading the notes from different jobs. It sort of tied all those separate days together into one bigger story. Makes you see how far you've come, you know?

My milestone was hitting 300 hours and realizing I've spent more time with barnacles than with my own family. At least the barnacles are quiet and don't ask for money.
