Just lost a whole day's pay on a cheap lift bag

I bought a no-name lift bag online for a small salvage job last month, saved maybe $150 compared to a good brand. Used it yesterday to bring up a piece of steel grating, about 300 pounds. The dump valve failed halfway up, lost control, and the whole thing shot to the surface. Had to call the job, lost the day and the client. That $150 'savings' cost me over $800 in lost work. Never skimp on lift gear. What's a reliable brand you guys actually trust for smaller lifts?

That's a brutal lesson to learn the hard way. I've had good luck with Halcyon for smaller stuff, it's never let me down. The extra cost up front is way cheaper than a lost job.

Yeah, I read a piece last year about how the cheap stuff can actually cost more over time. It wasn't just about the tool breaking, but about the hours lost on a project when you have to stop and run to the store. That downtime adds up fast. Paying more for something reliable from the start is basically buying peace of mind. It keeps the whole job moving smoothly.

See it all the time with people buying cheap tools or car parts. That short term savings always bites you later.
