Always thought a 4-foot bull float was fine for garage slabs, but a guy on a job in Tacoma called me out.
He said my finish was getting wavy because the float was too short for the wide open space, and I was overworking sections trying to keep up. He told me to try a 6-footer next time and just make two passes, one each way. Did a 24x24 slab last week with the longer float and it was way smoother, with half the effort. Anyone else switch up their float size based on the pour area?

Didn't my buddy have the same issue with his driveway?

My neighbor's driveway cracks are so bad, I saw a squirrel drop an acorn in one last week and it never came back out. Pretty sure the cracks are unionizing at this point.

Oh man, that tracks. I mean, my driveway looks like a mini Grand Canyon at this point. I'm pretty sure the cracks are starting to form their own little societies in there. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like I could lose a small pet in one of them.
