Back in '08, I'd float a slab with a wood darby and call it good enough.
Then I did a big garage floor in Omaha where the owner pointed out every single little ripple under the afternoon sun. Now I never skip the magnesium float, even if it adds twenty minutes. What's one old habit you had to break because a job showed you it wasn't good enough?

Oh man, that's rough. Actually though, tile is way more forgiving than people think. The real killer is trying to do your own drywall mud, lol.

Oh please, the tile is the EASY part! The real crime is when they don't seal the grout and it all turns gray in a month. Classic weekend warrior move.
