Wasted $300 on a fancy concrete sealer that ruined my whole driveway job
I bought this premium sealer from a supplier in Phoenix last month because the guy swore it was the best for desert climates. Spent a whole Saturday applying it to a new driveway, followed the directions to the letter. Next morning it had turned this awful milky white color instead of clear, looked like a mess. Called the supplier and they said I must have applied it wrong, no refund. Anybody else get burned by a sealer that looked promising but ended up being total junk?

Nah man, that milky white thing is a pretty common issue with some sealers. It usually happens when the sealer was applied too thick or the humidity was off, not necessarily a bad product. The supplier sounds like a jerk for blaming you though, honestly. I'd check the weather conditions the day you did it just to see if it might match up. But yeah, you're definitely not alone in getting burned by a pricey sealer that just didn't work out.

I did a driveway job back in 2019 with a sealant from a big box store that cost me almost 300 bucks for five gallons. Spent the whole Saturday laying it down, took my time, followed the directions to the letter. Next morning I come out and it's got this weird frosted look all over, like someone dusted it with flour. Call the store and they basically said I probably didn't mix it enough or the concrete was too cold, which it definitely wasn't. Ended up having to rent a pressure washer and strip the whole thing off, then start over with a different brand from a local hardware shop. That one worked fine, no issues at all. Sometimes you just get a bad batch or the stars don't align on the weather, but it's a long drive to blame the customer right off the bat.

You're right, that supplier sounds like a real jerk, it seems like a lot of things nowadays promise the world but won't back it up when something goes wrong.
