Hit 1,000 foil highlights in a single day last Friday

I was just trying to get through a packed schedule and didn't even notice until I counted my foils at the end. My wrist is still sore but it made me realize how much speed comes with reps. Has anyone else tracked their counts like that and been surprised?

Admitted that I counted my foils once and hit a hundred and fifty and gave myself a standing ovation like I'd just won a marathon. Only to realize later that was just before lunch and I had four more hours to go. My wrist was screaming at me for weeks after that, and I'm pretty sure my therapist could write a whole book about my need to obsessively track things. So yeah, I feel you on the surprise number thing but maybe don't be like me and turn it into a competition with yourself.

My wrist filed a formal complaint after I hit 150 foils and then asked for overtime.

Doesn't it feel like once you hit that flow state, you just stop noticing the little milestones altogether? I've seen the same thing happen with other repetitive tasks like packing boxes or even typing up reports, you just zone in and your body takes over until you stop to breathe.
