I finally tried that 'baby lights' technique on my own hair and ended up with a weird stripe effect.

I sectioned too thick and left the foils on 5 minutes too long, now I have a half-inch of chunky blonde that looks nothing like the seamless grow-out I was going for, has anyone else screwed up baby lights by overthinning the weave?

Is it just me or does this happen way more often than people admit? I swear every time someone tries some new color or style it ends up looking like they got their inspiration from a zoo animal. My cousin tried that silver gray trend last year and she looked like a raccoon for three weeks until it faded out. It might just be the lighting or the shirt she was wearing but sometimes our brains pick up on these patterns we don't even realize we're seeing.
