Am I the only one who thinks you should sometimes swing the load a little on purpose?

I know everyone says to keep the load dead still, but on a job in Tacoma last month, we had to set a heavy AC unit on a tight rooftop. The spotter's view was blocked by a vent stack. I gave the load a small, controlled swing to get it past the obstacle, then let it settle. It saved us at least an hour of repositioning the truck. I'm not talking about wild swings, just using the pendulum to your advantage when you have a clear plan. Has anyone else found a safe time to use a bit of swing on purpose?

Wait, you did that with a heavy AC unit?

Yeah, @sarahp34, "heavy AC unit" is no joke! I helped my buddy move his last summer and we almost dropped it on the porch. My back was sore for a week. You really need two people and a hand truck for those things. I can't imagine trying to install one alone.

Brooket43 is totally right about needing two people. Those AC units are way heavier than they look. Trying to do it alone is just asking for trouble. You could seriously hurt yourself or break the unit. Always get a friend and use a dolly, no question.
