Heard a crane spotter say something that stuck with me all shift

I was on a job near downtown Austin yesterday and our spotter mentioned he always watches the load line angle before anything else. Said most guys chase the hook but miss the angle shift that tells you the boom's about to flex. I tested it on my next lift and caught a slight twist I would have ignored otherwise. Has anyone else found a single thing they focus on that saves them from a rough lift?

Watched the tag line tension on a heavy steel beam job and it kept me from getting pinched.

Did you read that OSHA report about tag line incidents, @phoenix_singh25?

Buddy of mine got his foot crushed last year on a beam that swung around. Tag line was slack, nobody on it. That's all it takes, one second.
