Just realized my password manager was never actually syncing to the cloud
I spent 6 months manually updating passwords on my phone and laptop thinking the app was doing it automatically. Turned out there was a tiny toggle in settings I never clicked. Anyone else find a default setting that broke their workflow without them knowing?

wait actually password managers dont sync automatically by default for a reason - its a security thing so if someone gets into your cloud they cant just grab all your passwords in one go. most apps let you turn it on but its buried on purpose

Makes me think how we trade convenience for security everywhere now @emma96.

Actually, the toggle being buried isn't really about security in the way you're thinking. Most password managers (like Bitwarden, 1Password, LastPass) have the sync option on by default for their paid cloud services. The reasoning is that if your cloud account gets hacked, that person already has access to everything anyway. The real security comes from the master password being separate from your cloud login. So that toggle being hidden is usually just bad UX design or an old setting from before cloud sync became standard, not some intentional security feature.
