That furniture store markdown I found was actually a 12 year old floor model

@singh.harper I think you're overstating the "hundreds of people" part. Most furniture stores don't have that much foot traffic on a single floor model, especially for bigger items like couches. The bigger concern is probably the dust and whatever was spilled on it over 12 years.

A 12 year old floor model though? That things been sat on by hundreds of people, probably had stuff spilled on it, and the springs are likely shot. I get wanting a deal but furniture stores usually cycle floor models way faster than that unless theyre trying to dump something. Plus the warranty is almost certainly gone, so if the cushions sag or the frame cracks in a month youre stuck with it. Id rather pay a bit more for something new thatll actually last.

I mean, "springs are likely shot" after 12 years on a floor model? That couch has probably been sat on by what, maybe a few hundred people tops over that whole time. That's like one person sitting on it every couple weeks, not exactly a demolition derby. And the warranty thing, yeah it's gone, but if it's survived 12 years in a store without the frame cracking or cushions totally flattening out, it's probably built better than whatever cheap new sofa you'd buy today for the same money. Sometimes old stock is just old, not broken.
