Just hit 10,000 steps for 100 days straight - here's what I actually found

I started tracking my steps last August after seeing this viral claim that 10k a day fixes everything. Made it to day 100 yesterday. My sleep got better around week 3, but my knees started hurting around day 70. The crazy part is the health numbers I tracked didn't change nearly as much as the internet promised. My resting heart rate dropped from 72 to 68, not the huge drop people talk about. I lost maybe 4 pounds total which is barely anything for 3 months of walking 5 miles a day. Has anyone else actually tracked their own results from a viral health challenge?

My knees flared up around day 70 too. The whole thing feels like a marketing gimmick once you actually do it.

Had a coworker named Deb who tried this exact thing. She went all in with a fancy fitness tracker and everything. By day 40 she was walking circles in her living room at 11 PM to hit the number. Her doctor told her to stop after she developed a stress fracture in her foot. She was so mad about the whole thing because her blood work and blood pressure barely budged either. She said the only real change was she got really good at timing her bathroom breaks around her walks.

Oh man, @violag80 that Deb story is brutal. Walking circles at 11 PM to hit a number? That's insane. It's like people think the number is the thing that matters, not the actual health stuff. Her doctor probably wanted to scream. I swear these challenges make you crazy, not healthy.
