Hot take: I paid $80 for a 'deepfake detection' course that was just recycled YouTube clips
Last month, I saw an ad for a course promising to teach advanced spotting methods for $80. I signed up, thinking it was a real class. The first lesson was just a playlist of public videos I'd already seen, with no new info. The guy running it never answered any questions in the forum. Has anyone found a legit training source that's actually worth the cash?

That exact scam pattern is everywhere now, people just repackaging free stuff and calling it a premium course. It happens with home repair tutorials too, where they take common knowledge and slap a price tag on it. Makes you really suspicious of anyone selling "secret" info online. Honestly, if it's not from a real school or a known expert, it's probably just recycled content.

My local hardware store started selling basic plumbing guides for $40 last month.

Check the creator's actual work history first. If they haven't built a real tool or worked in the field, their course is probably trash.
