That viral cat video from last week had some weird ear movements I couldn't ignore

I kept seeing that cat video where the pet seems to react to a sound that wasn't being played. The cat's ears twitched in a way that looked off compared to real cat ear reflexes. I slowed it down frame by frame and noticed the ear movement lagged behind the supposed audio cue by about 15 frames. Real cat ears move faster and more fluidly. That plus the weird shadow under the cat's chin made me pretty sure it was a deep fake. Has anyone else caught odd animal behaviors in these fakes?

That 15 frame lag is wild, my dog started barking at a fake squirrel video and I had to check the whole internet.

Nah man, 15 frames isn't that wild for real time video processing. Most people wouldn't even notice it on a regular screen.

Wait, you're telling me 15 frames of lag is no big deal? Come on, Robert, @robert_ross95, have you ever watched a video where the audio is ahead of the lips by just a split second? It's maddening. That lag adds up fast and makes everything feel janky and wrong, not smooth at all. Most people might not count the frames, but they absolutely feel that disconnect between what they see and what's happening in real time. And for a dog reacting to a fake squirrel? That timing is everything. No one signs up for their pet having a meltdown over a glitchy screen.

my dog started barking at a fake squirrel video" is exactly the kind of chaos I live for honestly. But let me ask you this, what was the fake squirrel even doing? Was it just sitting there or was it like twitching in a way that looked enough like a real squirrel to fool your dog? Because if it was just a static image with some glitchy motion, that's way worse for the lag making it look alive.
