The lip-sync lag in that political speech - is it bad encoding or a deep fake?
I watched this mayor's speech from 2018 and the 2023 version side by side. In the old one, his lips match the audio perfectly. The new one has this half-second delay on every 'p' and 'b' sound. Could be a compression artifact from the streaming service. Or maybe someone swapped the mouth movements. What do you think causes that specific off-sync on plosives?

Are you sure it's not just a weird streaming glitch? I've seen stuff like that before where the video just gets out of sync for a second or two.

Could it be a streaming issue? My own lips are usually out of sync with reality so I'm probably the last guy to spot a fake.

Staring at this stuff is a great way to convince myself my own face is fake (my left eye twitches, and now I'm convinced it's a rendering error). That specific lag on the 'p' and 'b' sounds is a dead giveaway for a deep fake, actually. Real video compression usually blurs the whole mouth or drops frames, it doesn't selectively delay those hard consonant pops. Your mayor might be a secret robot, or at least one with a bad graphics card.
