Swapped out my old swamp cooler pads for the thick kind. Game changer for Phoenix summers.

I used to just grab whatever cheap fiber pads were at Home Depot and swap em once a year. My neighbor Rick told me to try the thick cellulose ones last summer. They cost like $40 more but holy moly the air actually feels cool now instead of just damp. Has anyone else noticed a big difference with the premium pads or am I late to the party?

Wait, why did nobody tell us about this sooner? I did the exact same thing last year after my old pads basically turned to dust. The cheap ones just blow wet air around, but the thick pads make it feel like actual AC for a fraction of the cost. My electric bill dropped a noticeable amount too, which paid for the pads pretty quick. Total night and day difference.

Yeah, the thick pads actually cool the air instead of just making it damp. I switched mine out and it was like getting a whole new unit.
