I finally cleaned my shop air lines after 8 years of putting it off

The difference in tool performance is night and day. My impact wrenches used to sound weak and lag, especially on cold mornings. Last month, I spent a Saturday blowing out all the lines and installing a new filter-regulator at the main drop. Now, everything hits with full power on the first pull. I should have done this years ago. Has anyone else seen a big jump in air tool life after a good system clean-out?

Remember when my dad swore his old air ratchet was just worn out. He was about to toss it. I took it apart on a hunch and found the whole rotor chamber packed with this gritty, oily paste. Cleaned it out with some solvent and it ran like new. Makes you wonder how many tools get replaced when they just need the gunk cleared out.

Exactly what @maxl93 said. Cleaned my old die grinder last week. Runs like a champ now.

Bet your compressor's thanking you too.
