I hit 500 hours on a single set of injectors in a 6.7 Powerstroke and everyone said I was crazy.
The common shop talk is you swap them at 300 hours to be safe, especially on the high-pressure units. I kept a strict fuel filter change schedule every 50 hours and used a specific additive, running it in a fleet of delivery trucks. They just kept testing fine. It made me question if we're replacing parts too early just because it's the easy answer. Has anyone else pushed a component way past its supposed life with good results?

Ever run a set of trailer tires way past the mileage everyone says is safe? I mean, I kept a close eye on them and they just kept passing inspections, no issues. Makes you wonder how much of the replacement schedule is just covering our butts.

Totally get that, man. My old boat trailer had tires that were way past the date code, but they still looked fine with no cracks. Drove them for two extra seasons just checking the pressure and tread before every trip. Makes you think half the rules are just for lawsuits, not real life.

I mean, @williamw75 has a point about inspections. My buddy's trailer tire blew on the highway last year and it was a mess, but it was also like 15 years old.
