Rant: I fought against electronic service manuals for way too long.
For years I insisted on my paper manuals, even for a 2018 Freightliner Cascadia. I'd spend 20 minutes flipping pages to find a torque spec. Last winter, a buddy showed me the dealer portal where you can search the whole thing in 10 seconds. I bought a cheap tablet for the shop, loaded the software, and now I won't go back. Who else made the switch and what's your setup?

Funny enough, my old foreman was the same way with his paper manuals for everything. He finally caved when a new apprentice kept finding wiring diagrams on his phone faster than the boss could find the right binder. The boss grumbled for a week, then bought a rugged laptop for the bay. Seeing a guy who swore by paper for thirty years finally admit the search function saved his sanity was pretty telling. It's just a different kind of tool that makes the job less frustrating.

Exactly. The search function is the real game changer. My crew used to waste so much time flipping through binders. Once you get used to pulling up a diagram in ten seconds, you can't go back. It's not about being fancy, it's about getting the job done without the extra headache.

Search is a total lifesaver, no doubt.
