Blew $60 on a digital art tablet that looked good on instagram but felt terrible to draw on

I fell for one of those cheap XP-Pen knockoffs from a random brand called Artisul or something last spring. It looked fine in the unboxing videos but the pen had this weird jitter when you drew diagonal lines. I spent like 3 hours trying to calibrate it and updated drivers twice but it never got smooth. The screen had this grainy texture that ate up my nibs in like a week. Honestly my old wacom intuos from 2015 works way better even though it's basic. Anyone else get burned by those budget tablets that influencers push?

Wait, are you saying those influencer tablets actually suck? Because I used to be all about defending budget gear honestly. I thought people just didn't know how to use them right or they were being picky. But then I tried the same kind of thing you're describing - a weird brand called Huion's budget line. The pen lag was brutal and the screen had this terrible parallax that made my lines always be a little off. It completely changed my mind about cheap tablets. Now I tell everyone to just save up for a used Wacom or a known good model instead.

Bought a $30 XP Pen off Amazon and the driver crashed every 20 minutes, @blair_chen81.

Gotta wonder if some of these companies are just rebranding the same cheap components from the same factory. Bought a random brand called Gaomon once and it literally had the same driver interface as a different brand I tried the month before, just with a different logo slapped on it.
