Power cut in a Chiang Mai cafe cost me a client call

I was set up at a cafe near Nimman with my hotspot and everything, then the whole block went dark around 2pm. My laptop had maybe 40% battery and I had a video call with a US client in 20 minutes. I grabbed my gear and sprinted to a coworking space about 10 minutes away, but their backup generator was already full of other nomads doing the same thing. I ended up doing the call from my phone in a quiet corner of the lobby, audio only. Has anyone else had a sudden power loss screw up their remote work day, and what's your backup plan when the backup plan fails?

Tbh, a buddy of mine had the exact same thing happen in Bali, ended up doing a pitch from a rice field with his phone propped on a rock. He told me the client actually loved the 'authentic jungle vibe', so maybe it's not always a disaster.
